Recently, BGD Landscape collaborated with TOHO LEO, a Japanese company specializing in green infrastructure solutions, to organize a tree planting session featuring an Underground Tree Anchoring System at the Ho Khue Architects Office project. This is the first project in Central Vietnam to implement this solution, marking a new milestone in the adoption and practical application of modern landscape engineering solutions.
1. Introduction to TOHO LEO’s Underground Tree Anchoring System
The Underground Tree Anchoring System is a solution that uses specialized components to secure tree root balls beneath the planting surface. Instead of using support stakes positioned around the tree trunk, this system anchors trees from below ground, helping reduce the risk of trees leaning or falling due to wind and other environmental factors.
In particular, this solution minimizes the need for visible support structures, keeping planting areas neat and preserving the overall aesthetics of the landscape.
2. Application of the Underground Tree Anchoring System at Ho Khue Architects Office
During the tree planting session at Ho Khue Architects Office, BGD Landscape worked alongside the TOHO LEO team to install the underground tree anchoring system and carry out the planting process in accordance with technical requirements.
Beyond being a practical construction activity, the session also provided the BGD team with an opportunity to gain direct insight into the system's structure, operating principles, and application methods. Accordingly, material selection, installation procedures, and technical quality control were carefully considered to ensure the solution was suitable for the project's specific conditions.
For rooftop landscapes, tree anchoring must be considered in conjunction with the planting bed structure, growing medium, drainage system, and the building's load-bearing capacity. Therefore, the underground anchoring solution must be selected and implemented based on site surveys and specific technical calculations, rather than applying the same approach to every planting area.
